A Social Prescriber’s Dream – Wellbeing Event
24 September 2022 @ 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm£5
Holme Farm will be holding a wellbeing and arts event at New Haw library on Saturday 24 September 2022. The event will celebrate the concept of social prescribing – and how it can help build a healthy community – with a particular focus on therapies, arts and crafts.
Social prescribing is a referral service. It is about looking at an individual in a holistic way; recognising the social, economic and environmental factors that affect their mental and physical health and the best way to provide support. The activities that fall into the category are broad-ranging; a handful of examples include gardening, sport, group learning, befriending and holistic therapies. Once the Holme Farm site is renovated, it is intended that all these activities will be available on a sliding payment scale.
At the event, there will be the opportunity to engage in colouring, puzzles, braiding, guided drawing and craft. There will also be reflexology and massage taster sessions, talks on herbalism, sound therapy and art therapy as well as some stalls and Holme Farm’s current status and future plans. The mayor of Runnymede, Cllr Margaret Harnden, will attend as Holme Farm is one of her chosen charities for 2022/23.
