The Holme Farm team is proud to announce that it has been chosen as one of two charities to be supported by the Mayor of Runnymede, Councillor Margaret Harnden, throughout her 2022/23 service.
The project, which is in the very early stages of being set up, was brought to her attention when it received significant backing from Runnymede’s Community Services Team in the autumn of 2021. She was inspired by the vision of Ronnie and Christine Kendall to create a community hub with large green space to help the community to help itself, at the same time as addressing mental health issues stemming from loneliness and isolation.
Home Farm will encompass wildflower meadows, a sensory garden, allotments, apiary, DIY shed, welfare rooms, arts and crafts centre and cafe. With a multitude of activities on offer it is hoped that people will enjoy different aspects of the hub during the day and evening
“It is a huge honour to receive the support of Mayor Harnden. We are at a critical stage of negotiating the terms of our lease with DEFRA as well as the planning permission for the building site changes so the greater the public backing we receive, the more it secures our position.”Ronnie Kendall, Committee Chair and Trustees
